Congratulations to Mary Cardamone for receiving the Lloyd Duncan Memorial Award for Outstanding Volunteerism at United Way Oakville’s 60th Annual General Meeting.
The Lloyd Duncan Memorial Award for Outstanding Volunteerism is a special way of recognizing an exceptional volunteer who encapsulates true excellence in volunteerism and dedication to our community.
Exemplifying these characteristics is this year’s award recipient, Mary Cardamone.
Mary joined United Way Oakville in 2010 in the vital role of Campaign Cabinet Chair. Her influence, dedication and determination helped the Cabinet and staff team to exceed the 2010 goal of $3.6 million by almost 9%. Mary continued volunteering with United Way Oakville by participating as a Leadership Account Executive, following up with Leadership donors and making thank you calls. She is currently on the Board of Directors, which she joined in 2013, and is a member of the Governance Committee.
Mary also runs a successful realty company here in Oakville, The Cardamone Group, where she is joined by her son, Paolo. Along with her commitment to United Way Oakville, she is also a dedicated Rotarian, and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Oakville West. She received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award from Rotary International in 1999. She is also a Past Chair of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Board of the Oakville Economic Development Alliance and as a Director of the Twin Oaks Credit Union. Thank you Mary for your dedication to our community.
