CEO’s Message
For more than 50 years, United Way of Oakville has helped bring people and resources together to strengthen our community. Each individual plays a role in building a better future for our families, our friends and our neighbours.
While Oakville is a strong and vibrant town, we do have our share of challenges. They may not be as visable as in other communities, but homelessness, poverty, drug-abuse and violence do occur Oakville. Now is the time to address the root of these problems head on. To this end, United Way of Oakville has set six strategic priorities to guide the organization:
- Become a leader in mobilizing volunteer resources
- Become a leader in mobilizing financial resources
- Strategically invest in our community
- Be an effective partner and convenor of communities
- Provide compassionate and effective non-partisan voice on challenges facing our community
- Build the UWO reputation by enhancing awareness of the organization’s impact on our community
