Leadership Giving
A Leadership gift is a donation of $1,000 or more. When you make a Leadership gift to United Way of Oakville, you are making a very personal and powerful commitment to the community. The program encourages individuals to take an active role in philanthropy, recognize them for their generosity and then encourage others to follow suit.
What’s more, through The Sprott Leadership Matching Challenge all new and increased Leadership gifts given directly to United Way of Oakville will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $150,000.
For eight years in a row, The Sprott Foundation has issues The Sprott Leadership Matching Challenge. New and increased Leadership gifts given directly to United Way of Oakville will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $150,000. The matching funds do not include those gifts designated to other United Ways or registered charities. For example:
- Make a first time contribution to United Way for $1,000 and The Sprott leadership Matching Challenge will match the entire gift. Your $1,000, added to the match, becomes $2,000 for United Way of Oakville.
- Increase your Leadership contribution to United Way of Oakville from $5,000 to $7,500 and the increase ($2,500) will be matched for a total gift of $10,000.
Individuals that donate to United Way of Oakville at the Leadership level are recognized in the following ways:
- Name included in the annual Leadership Honour Roll
- Invited to United Way of Oakville’s Leadership Recognition events, including the annual Leadership Reception generously sponsored by Appleby College
