By focusing on children and youth, family support, and new Canadians, United Way assures us all a bright future. Did you know there are more than 2,600 children living in poverty right here in Oakville?
United Way aims to support independence and the well-being of seniors in our community; with a specific focus on quality of life for both seniors and their caregivers. Did you know that approximately 21% or 3,100 seniors live alone in Oakville?
United Way of Oakville emphasizes support for those dealing with addiction, violence, abuse and/or mental illness within our community. Did you know one in four women in Halton has experienced at least one incident of violence at the hands of a boyfriend or husband?
By focusing on literacy, hunger relief and mental health, United Way helps to strengthen the community. Did you know in Oakville at least 3,000 people aged 35 -65 have low literacy and need help with reading, writing and basic math? |
