On Thursday, March 2, United Way Oakville proudly announced that the Oakville community raised $4.5 million for its 2016 fundraising campaign.

The announcement was made at United Way Oakville’s Community Celebration Night at the Oakville Conference Centre. The event featured Chris Mei from The Weather Network as emcee, and a lively dance performance by a dance group from United Way Oakville funded ArtHouse, in addition to the traditional awards ceremony. With nearly 400 people in attendance, the event honoured local organizations and individuals for their outstanding contributions to United Way.

“I would like to personally thank you all for helping make Oakville a better place to live,” said Terry Smith, 2016 Campaign Cabinet Chair, “From our agencies, community partners, government, labour and private sector partnerships, your generosity has proven that together, we are possibility.  You helped to bring us all together to strengthen the lives of our neighbours and communities.”

The 2016 Campaign raised the most money in United Way Oakville’s 61 year history, making this years’ success, that much more impressive.

“We would like to say thank you to our donors, and we are so appreciative of their incredible generosity,” said Brad Park, United Way Oakville CEO, “Oakville is a great community that proves year after year, that it comes together for those who need it most.”
