In early December, United Way Oakville had a surprise visit from Angus MacDonald, President of Unifor Local 1256, carrying with him a large raffle draw drum. In it, were hundreds of entries, all vying to win the 7 prizes generously donated by Local 1256. First, second and third prize were winnings of $1,000 each, and the remaining four prizes were winnings of $500 each.
Through the Union membership and participating companies, over $5,000 was raised and donated to United Way Oakville’s 2014 campaign.
“We from Unifor Local 1256 first and foremost want to thank United Way Oakville for the services you provide to the community,” expressed Angus. “We would also like to thank all of our Members for purchasing tickets for such a great cause.”
Thank you to the following companies for contributing to this outstanding campaign; Automodular Corporation of Oakville, Boart Longyear of Mississauga, Certainteed Gypsum of Mississauga and Mr. Andre Petrucci.
The draw was held at the United Way Oakville office, and the several winners were notified immediately afterwards. On behalf of United Way Oakville and the community, we would like to thank Angus for his hard work in organizing and promoting the raffle, as well as all of the Union members and participating companies that purchased tickets.
