Thank you to all participants, volunteers and spectators who braved the extreme heat to help United Way Oakville kick off its 2013 annual fundraising campaign. Over 200 people took part in the festivities, which featured a Zumba warm-up, a live DJ, contests at the UWO Community Hub, an Artisan Village and more.


United Way Oakville’s 2013 campaign goal is $4.35 million!!!

Eighteen teams competed in the 3rd Annual Bus Pull competition. Special thanks to Oakville Hydro, the 2013 Title Sponsor, and to Oakville Transit for supplying the personnel and busses for the day.

The GE Gladiators and Mattamy’s Supermen posted the two fastest times in the first round, which secured them a position in the finals. Congratulations to Mattamy’s Supermen for winning the 3rd Annual Bus Pull Challenge with a time of 26.68! The GE Gladiators were not far behind with a time of 26.85.


The Spirit Award was awarded to the Ford team, ‘Uniforce,’ who had great outfits, flags and a sizeable cheer force. The top fundraising team was TD Canada Trust – the ‘TD Green Machine,’ as well as the top fundraising male. The top fundraising female was from the Whole Foods team. Thank you to all teams and participants for helping us kick start our 2013 campaign!
