As Executive Director of a funded agency, Nancy was able to bring a different perspective to the Board, which was greatly appreciated. Her knowledge of governance was an asset to the Governance Committee. As well Nancy sat on the Campaign Cabinet, working with fellow agencies to support and encourage the growth of the Campaign.

Erin Gordon - Board member from 2006 – 2010

As Chair of the HR committee, Erin was responsible for monitoring the performance of the CEO against the objectives established by the Board. In addition, she always made herself available to consult to the CEO on HR related issues within the organization. Her support over the four years was genuinely appreciated and will be missed in the future.

Linda Jones - Board member from 2003 – 2010

Linda was appointed to the Board by the Oakville & District Labour Council. Not only did Linda serve as a Board member, but also worked on the Agency Funding Committee, spending many hours reviewing funding applications and providing her recommendations. Linda also contributed through her work on the Governance Committee.

Willie Lambert – Board Member from 2007 – 2010

Willie was appointed to the Board by the Oakville & District Labour Council. We very much appreciated his participation and look forward to continue working with his colleagues in the ODLC.

Gordon Ross - Board Member from 2004-2010

Gordon was Chair of the Board from 2005 – 2008 and in addition has served on the Governance, Finance and HR Committee. Over the years, Gordon has helped to transition the organization. Jeff Scanlon - Board member from 2007 – 2010

Over the past three years, Jeff has taken a significant leadership role in the revision of our By-law and governance policies, which were approved by the membership last year. As Governance Chair, Jeff has provided insight into challenging issues in a respectful and thoughtful manner in order that the organization would not be compromised. In his short three years with United Way of Oakville, Jeff has accomplished a tremendous amount and has helped to improve the governance and strength of the organization.

Jill Yousie – Board member from 2004 – 2010

Jill was Board Chair for 2008 – 2009 and during her tenure provided expertise to the Governance and HR Committees. Prior to this, she served as a reviewer for agency program applications as well as chairing the Community Impact Cabinet. Her dedication, perseverance and positive attitude provided the foundation for moving the organization forward. Jill’s quiet demeanour but strong determination brought the organization to a high level of functioning.
